Senior Holiday Project

We are beginning to gather items for our seniors – now. We need to gather ALL of our items by Thursday, December 7th, to be sure we have time to assemble and wrap them prior to our delivery date. All of the gifts are wrapped and placed in decorative baskets, so that our seniors receive these gifts with a festive flair. These gifts baskets are delivered with a hot turkey dinner with all the trimmings to our 24 homebound seniors living in La Mesa.

Here are items that we suggest you can purchase to donate to this year’s gift baskets: 24 canned soups, 24 canned vegetables, 24 canned fruits, 24 packets of crackers, 24 packets of pasta or macaroni & cheese, 20 slipper socks for women, 4 pairs of men’s socks. 24 bars of soaps, 24 tubes of tooth paste, 24 packs of tissues, 24 bottles of hand soaps, 24 bottles of hand sanitizer, 24 pens and pads of paper. Gift cards in any denomination from the following locations: Walmart, Target, or any grocery store. If you have another item you believe will put a smile on their faces, by all means drop them off! We want to make this again, a memorable holiday for our home bound seniors.

Remember all donated items must be received by THURSDAY, DECEMBER 7TH to be included in our gift baskets. Chamber Staff is in the field collecting items so you may deliver your items  to  Fran Smith, 8080 La Mesa Blvd., Suite 214 (2 doors from our office) Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. 

Chamber Member,  Erickson - Anderson Mortuary is also taking donations at their location, look for the banner on their building! They are located at  8390 Allison Avenue in La Mesa.
