La Mesa, CA. La Mesa Park & Recreation Foundation will Rock to the tunes of Rex & the Parkers (60’s and 70’s classic rock) to raise funds to replace 5 playgrounds in La Mesa Parks. This “Swanky Picnic for the Parks” will be Friday, May 20th at 6pm at the La Mesa Community Center and promises to be a fun, hip event including local food from The Hills, Hooleys, Edible Arrangements and Sombreros. In the fun and games department, a cornhole tournament, name that park game and social media photo sharing will keep guests entertained until the dancing begins.
La Mesa Rocks, sponsored by EDCO and Sporting SD, will include great food, drinks, corn hole tournament, music from two bands, live and silent auctions, opportunity drawing prizes and more. Buy your tickets online at www.LaMesaParks.org. For more information call 619-667-1300.
The mission of the La Mesa Park and Recreation Foundation is to facilitate quality projects and programs that provide activities that strengthen community and family bonds as well as foster pride in La Mesa and in its parks. “Our projects include capital improvements to La Mesa parks and providing free family activities in the parks such as summer concerts, dive in movies at the municipal pool and free science and recreational events for kids,” said John Fonseca, Foundation President.
